Make your own bear with Make my Bear
The make your own bear concept has been around for a number of years and is believed to have started in the USA. Companies such as Build-a-Bear, Teddy Mountain and Stufflers originated in America before making their way to Australia.. Make my Bear was set up in 2011 and is a Sydney based family run business. We are an online business providing teddy bear kits Australia wide. You choose whether to make your own bear at home or at a party venue.
We continue to grow year on year and are thankful to our wonderful customers for assisting with this. 
In recent years we partnered with Cuddles and friends, a European designer ofTeddy Bear kits. This has enabled us to expand our range significantly.
Make your own Teddy Bear at Vacation Care
We also provide a lot of make your own bear kits to vacation care centres where it has proved to be a very popular activity. Children love this activity and enrollments tend to increase on the days that this activity is in the program. Centres book time and time again so we must be doing something right! Christmas is especially busy as we always have very cute Christmas bears.
It has also been used very successfully as a fundraiser for schools, hospitals and charities.
The History
Make my bear’s founder, Karen, left university to follow a career in IT which brought her from the UK to Australia. Karen spent 25 years in the IT industry but when children came along she grew tired of juggling family and corporate life.
Karen has two wonderful children and knows first hand what’s required to make an engaging kids party. She set about developing the “Make My Bear” business to provide other parents with a family-friendly and cost-effective option to host their own children’s party at home.
The goal was clear from the start, “I wanted to provide something fun for the children to do, yet engaging enough to keep them happy. It also needed to be quick and easy to arrange. Allowing busy parents to order online and then receive their complete party package a few days later.”
As the business grows, we are continuing to look to extend our range of bears and accessories. We value your feedback and comments.and will always respond. We have added the smaller bears range as a result of customer feedback.
